Market News and Amazing Farm Updates

Market News for June 11, 2011

Todd and I will be at the Mt. Holly Farmers Market from 8am – 12pm.  We will not be at the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market this week. The spring veggies are almost over and the summer veggies are just beginning to be ready.  So, we don’t have quite enough to benefit us to go to both markets.  We should be back at the Charlotte Regional Market next week.

Here’s a list of what we will have at the markets.

  • Zucchini
  • Onions
  • Beets
  • Broccoli Florets ~ limited availability
  • Garlic ~ limited availability
  • Swiss Chard ~ limited availability

Farm Updates

Well, this week has been so full of surprises.  A week ago today, I was let go from my 8 to 5 job because of budget cuts.  God is so good.  That has been such a blessing for us.  I finally get to be at home with my children and my husband.  I get to help Todd so he doesn’t have to wait till 5:30pm to do stuff so I can watch the kids.  We’ve been wanting this for a long time but I didn’t want to make the decision because I wanted it to be what God wanted for our lives and not what I wanted.  So, this is obviously what God wants. This is really helping us to plant more and spend more time really working on the farm.   It will take a little while to get everything coming in but when it does, I hope to have y’all loaded up at the markets and even on the farm.

See you at the market!

Your farmers,

Todd and Marnita Causby

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord.  He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out his roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8 (ESV)
