My name is Todd Causby.  I’m the farmer here at Shady Creek Farm.  Seems like I’ve been farming just about my entire life.  I’ve learned many things growing up on the farm from my grandfather and mother.  My grandfather loved farming.  He always sold his extra vegetables here at the farm next to the road.  He taught me many things about farming and how to take care of this land.  I guess that’s how this land became a part of me.

I’ve always “gardened” for my family.  Then when I lost my job in 2007, my wife and I decided we needed to pray about what God wanted me to do.  God kept bringing farming to the forefront every time.  It seemed as if every where I looked, God was inspiring me to really start farming for a living.  It definitely scared me.  There’s nothing stable about farming.  The weather is a huge factor in farming.  But, with all that said, we still think God has led us to farm.

My wife and I started our farming adventure around January 2008.  We truly believe in sustainable farming. Farming that helps not just feed the community but heal the land at the same time.  We are committed to growing our vegetables naturally using organic methods.  We believe that growing our vegetables without synthetic chemicals and raising our chickens on grass provide our customers with superior quality vegetables and eggs.

We are living this amazing farm adventure and we hope you can be a part of it!

Your farmers,

Todd and Marnita Causby
